Iron Man Helmet

I built an iron man helmet that opens and closes. It looks super sick. Took 4 months to build.

The Goal

I wanted to build an iron man helmet, fully battery powered that opens and closes. But not just one part, the entire mask splits into tiny pieces.

How does it work?

The helmet has 9 servo motors, fully battery powered and controlled by an Arduino Nano and a motor controller. It took just about 4 months of work, and I had to learn everything from CAD, to Servo control, embedded programming, power distribution, and complex soldering.

As a freshman, this was definitely the most complex "robotics" project I'd built to-date.

The helmet design is by Box & Loop.

Includes 9 servos, a servo driver, arduino nano, and battery pack.
